If you are planning your holiday to Bulgaria on your own, and have not bought a ready-made tour that includes transport to your destination, then the issue of transport from the airport to St. Vlas must be planned in advance or at least have some idea of how to get to the resort of St. Vlas.
Well, there are only three options, for every taste and budget: you can get to St. Vlas by bus, taxi or rent a car.
Saint Vlas – how to get there? Bus
The bus stop is located in close proximity to the airport, just 230 meters from the departure terminal. From here, take bus number 15, which will take you to the central bus station in Burgas. Next, from the “West” bus station (there is also a “South”), take a bus with a direct flight to St. Vlas . If you decide to use the bus service, then from the western station of Burgas, use the buses with the following routes. This applies only to direct flights from Burgas to St. Vlas.
Sliven – St. Vlas : departure 9:45 and arrival 10:40 respectively;
Vidin – St. Vlas : departure 14:40 and arrival at 16:15;
Stara Zagora – Sveti Vlas : departure 17:20 and arrival at 18:30.
You can also take a bus directly from the airport if you are heading towards Sunny Beach or Nessebar . Then, already in Sunny Beach, you can change to a city bus and get to the city of St. Vlas. The bus stop for all buses going to Sunny Beach or Nessebar is located across the road, opposite the arrival terminal.
How to get to St. Vlas? Taxi
If you value your time and don’t want to waste it waiting for the bus and following schedules, then in this case there can only be one answer – a taxi.
Taxis are located in the square directly in front of the arrivals terminal. There are enough companies that offer taxi services. However, be careful – use the services of official, licensed carriers. Meters are required, although prices may be fixed for long distances.
They even have an office at the airport that is open 24 hours a day. It is not necessary to order a taxi in advance, although it is possible. In this case, follow the link below and fill out the required form. The price of a transfer from Burgas Airport to Sveti Vlas is from 23 euros.
How to get to St. Vlas? Car rent
And finally, the third option. Despite the fact that there are several car rental companies at Burgas Airport, I strongly recommend booking a car in advance – before arriving in Bulgaria. In the summer, at the height of the season, there is a catastrophic shortage of cars, therefore, you are taking a big risk by hoping to rent a car at the airport or at your destination. Often they simply are not there, and if they are, the price can be greatly inflated. Avoid companies that do not require advance payment, as they are likely to allow overbooking. In this case, even if your order is accepted, there is simply no guarantee that the car will be waiting for you upon arrival.
Burgas Airport has contracts with the following companies: Sixt, Europcar, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Top rent a car, National, Alamo. All of them deserve attention, however, it would be nice to support Bulgarian companies and tourism, rather than international brands that send taxes abroad. If you have such a desire, I recommend “Top Rent a Car” .
Transport services in the city of Sveti Vlas
Without any doubt, if you are planning to spend your vacation only in this resort town, then you do not need to know this. And all those who are not used to sitting still and are thirsty for adventure and new discoveries will enjoy further information.
Are you planning to visit the ancient town of Nessebar , listed on the UNESCO list and famous for its views, fish restaurants and souvenir shops? Or maybe you want to visit one of the water parks or the beach in Sunny Beach ? Well, all this is possible, together with the well-developed and cheap bus transport in St. Vlas , and in general in the municipality.
The bus route “Nessebar-Saint Vlas (Nessebar-Sunny Beach-Saint Vlas)” operates from 05:55 in the morning until 21:15 in the evening, making 16 trips per day (10 trips on weekends). Tickets are available on the bus, from the conductor, and the price depends on the distance traveled. So, for example, to get from St. Vlas to Sunny Beach , you will need only 1.20 leva, and to Nessebar – 2.20 leva.
